Item Condition

I grade products as honestly as possible and depict blemishes in both description and photos—please study them carefully. I tend to be overcritical and customers report items to be in better shape than expected often. From best condition to worst condition, my grading scale is as follows. Mint / near mint+ / near mint / excellent+ / excellent / great / very good / average / fair.

Description

Gorgeous 1966 Brooks Competition Standard (according to the date code on frame).  This seat would look great on your 1960's or 70's classic road ride, such as Peugeot PX10, Colnago, Hetchins, Bianchi, etc.  This one is rather unique for a B17.  This is one of few B17's ever made without a rear badge (happened for a few years in the 60's).  It also is one of few B17's made with no bag loops.

Great condition.  While it does have some wear on the nose and rear edges, it doesn't have any of the indents from being ridden many miles and broken in.  Saddle top is as flat as brand new.  The leather is supple, and bends easily with no crackling noises.  Nose and rear corners have the top finish worn off, but it actually looks cool like that (kind of the weathered look).  Theres a shallow gash on the left side of the nose.  Other parts of the leather look great with only minor scratches.  Rails,  rivets, frame, and tensioning hardware look almost new.  Just a few minor marks.

  • Year: 1966 (code on frame: A 66)
  • Rails: chrome
  • Rivets: nickel silver
  • Made in Birmingham, England

I'm always buying high end bikes, parts, accessories, memorabilia, etc. While I'm particularly seeking large piles of new old stock parts, used items in nice condition are welcome.
