Description

Own a piece of mountain biking history!  The Suntour Superbe was THE first derailleur designed specifically for mountain bike use!  It is unique in that it has a 3rd pivot, which is housed inside the upper jockey wheel.   When first tested, they received rave reviews as one of the most efficient derailleurs ever!  Unfortunately, many of them developed problems with the spring in the upper jockey.  The Mountech was released in 1982, this is a 1983 model.  Buy this to restore an early mountain bike, or to put on your mantle as a homage to the mountain bike.

This one is in great condition, and that includes the jockey wheel spring!  Cosmetically, it has a bit of the "mountech" logo wearing off, and only a few minor cosmetic marks.  Both jockey wheels spin well with little wear to the teeth.  The upper wheel does have just a bit of grit in it (which is better than most Mountech derailleurs!)
