Item Condition

I grade products as honestly as possible and depict blemishes in both description and photos—please study them carefully. I tend to be overcritical and customers report items to be in better shape than expected often. From best condition to worst condition, my grading scale is as follows. Mint / near mint+ / near mint / excellent+ / excellent / great / very good / average / fair.

Description

Rare high zoot mountain bike pedals from the 1990's!  These were made by Sampson of Denver, Colorado, likely right before the popularization of clipless pedals.  They have all the bells and whistles.  6/4V titanium spindles, five traction pins per pedal, alloy cages/bodies, and a low weight of only 240 grams for the pair!

The tails of the cages appear to have been trimmed, to save weight and give more of a compact look/feel.  Stock these were full cages instead of the long/short split cage on these.

Condition

Very good to great used condition.  Bearings are buttery smooth, but have a good bit of play (1mm?).  These are likely rebuildable... The inner bearing for these pedals is really a 10mm long Teflon-like bushing, which provides for rotational support. The outer bearing is a sealed bearing cartridge, the Japanese NSK 696Z (via BikePro).  Cages and bodies have light wear.

They're certainly not for a show bike, but if you can deal with the play or rebuild them they're great for riders.

Sell / Trade / Donate

I'm always buying high end bikes, parts, accessories, memorabilia, etc. While I'm particularly seeking large piles of new old stock parts, used items in nice condition are welcome.
