Description

Jan Heine from Bicycle Quarterly and Compass designed these tires to be plush and fast beyond belief.  They are designed to be clinchers with a similar ride feel/quality as silk racing tubulars.  The newly released 48mm Juniper Ridge takes the same ultra supple casings as their Babyshoe Pass file pattern tire, and hand glue on a tread of large, widely spaced lugs.  This combination allows the tire to run almost as fast on pavement as the Babyshoe, but bites into loose surfaces like a dedicated gravel or cyclocross tire.  Get these endurance casing versions for your gnarly Colorado gravel rides complete with ruts and rocks.

The Juniper Ridge’s large knobs don’t squirm and offer excellent performance and cornering on paved roads, yet they are spaced widely to dig into the surface when it gets slippery. The tread pattern is designed to increase the amount of rubber in contact with the road as you lean the bike into turns to maximize grip.

 

Rene Herse tires feature supple casings that roll smoothly over surface irregularities.  The Endurance casing is reinforced for extra sidewall protection and puncture resistance, while retaining most of the speed and comfort for which Rene Herse tires are famous."
