Description

Brilliantly polished Spanish post, from the famous Zeus 2000 gruppo.  The size is 26.6mm, which is common on high end French bikes with thin butted Reynolds 531 tubing.  According to the 1984 Sutherlands, nice quality straight gauge tubing is 26.2mm, where butted was 26.4mm or 26.6mm.  This size is used by bikes such as Mondia, LeJeune, Motobecane Champion Team, Grand Record / Jubilee, Peugeot PX-10 & PY-10, Follis, Gitane, even some Rene Herse & Alex Singer.

It is a damn near exact clone of the 1st generation Super Record seatpost made from 1973-1978.  All clamp pieces are interchangeable with Campagnolo 2-bolt seatposts.  The shape and length of the flutes is even a match.  The only discrepancy is the taper where the shaft and clamp head meet.  It is unpolished, just like the Nuovo Record.  

Condition

New old stock take-off!  It is show bicycle worthy for all but the cleanest NOS bikes.  Just some very minor microscratches in a few spots, and a touch of machining marks inside the flutes.  Clamp pieces are close to perfect. Bolts are shiny, rust free, and only have some wrench flat wear.  Insertion marks not past an inch from the bottom and barely there.
