Description

Sleek Italian sidepull brakeset for your restoration or L'Eroica bicycle.  These are a high level brake, and an affordable alternative to Campagnolo or Modolo.  These were introduced in 1977, and ran into the early/mid 80's as Universal's top level brakes.  The levers are among my favorite designs of the era, and feature five almost diamond shapes below the Universal name along with milled out sides.  The brakes specifically are more polished and luxurious looking than earlier Universals, with a silver anodized finish (like Campy) and lovely chromed hardware.

Condition

New old stock, no box.  Absolutely pristine with the exception of one side of each hood is getting dry.  No marks on levers or calipers.  The gum hoods look wonderful on the outsides, top, and bottoms, but the inner (stem facing) sides are dry and discolored.  They would probably last for some riding, but if you plan to ride them you should expect replacing them soon.  Show worthy.
