Description

This cool hub combines a 2 speed internal planetary gearing and a standard 5-speed cassette (10 gears total), along with a drum brake.  It was intended as a top shelf option for city, townie, and tourist bicycles, and was released in the 1990's.  They're fairly rare, as they were very expensive when new and not many were sold.

The internal gears of this hub can be easily lubricated by removing the spindle and pouring in oil.  The cassette is a premium option for this hub, and is gold anodized!!  It's a somewhat proprietary design, and uses a uniglide style thread on small cog as a lockring.

 

Condition

New old stock, never laced.  Bearings are buttery smooth.  There is some light shop wear in the form of scratches on the larger section of the center shell.  Otherwise, very clean.
