Description
This iconic Italian chrome stem was the first component from the workshop of Cino Cinelli. Your eyes are led there along the path of the sultry chrome finished curves of the quill and extension, and land on the lovely cap of the clamp bolt and the old oval Cinelli logo. These were found on Cinelli and other Italian top level road bicycles from the 1950's, 1960's, and perhaps very early 70's. This one is the mid drop Mod.2, at a 64 degree angle. The Mod 1 was the road stem at ~70 degree, and Mod 3 was the deep drop pista stem at ~58 degree. The extension logo is the "old" Cinelli Milano logo, identifying it as 1950's to 1960's. In the early 1970's, the engraved logo was removed and a made in Italy decal applied.
Condition
New old stock, possibly a take off! Absolutely no rust, no insertion marks, barely any scratches in the chrome. The only real wear to note is the very slightest chrome wear on the edges of the quill bolt head and clamp nut's wrench flats.
