Description
This 1st generation Campagnolo Athena D100 rear mech is a short cage design that can shift up to a 30t large cog, thanks to it's unique multi-position chip that fits around the upper pivot bolt and adjusts derailleur angle. It's aesthetics are almost identical to the Veloce RD-01VL, except this Athena has a nicer Chorus/Record level finish. It was released as a 7 speed, and continued unchanged into the beginning of the 8 speed era.
***The outer derailleur cage plate has an odd hole in it's edge, at the top of the upper jockey. I am including a 2nd inner cage plate (good used shape) from the same model. The cage plate is hollow and the hole is all the way through the outer layer. No idea what caused this. Use the installed but NOS cage plate if this will be a show only bike, or switch to the used one to ride this derailleur safely***
Condition
New old stock, and near pristine with the exception of an odd hole in the outer cage plate (a good but used replacement cage plate will be included, see red above and in photos). Jockey wheels are squeaky clean and buttery smooth with good lubrication. Still has white plastic cover on limit screws
