Description

This is a rare super wide ratio freewheel from the 1970's and early 80's.  It's largest cog is a 38 tooth, larger than any other freewheel I've ever seen.  Could be a hilly tourist's dream gear, or for an early mountain bike.  Or, the world's coolest paperweight!  Derailleurs it would work with include the Huret Duo-Par, or a Suntour Mountech GLT or Superbe Tech GLT.  Many of Suntour's other "Alpine Gear" derailleurs could work as well.  Watch the last step, it's a doozie.

The plate on the inside of the small cog is to keep the chain from popping off the high end into the dropout.  Many old Schwinn bikes had this feature.
