Description

The original 7400 cassette hubs, with 126mm spacing and 6 or 7 speed Uniglide cassette compatibility.  These use a thread-on small cog, which serves as the lockring. This groupset adorns countless classic road bikes from the mid to late 1980's and is wonderful for L'Eroica bikes.

There is a lot of misinformation on specific model numbers for the 7400 series and especially the hubs. Annoyingly, Shimano confused things out the gate by naming the rear hub for freewheels and this freehub/cassette both "FH-7400". The FH-7400 freehub was 126mm and fit reduced diameter 31.8mm UG threaded cog (Dura Ace UG cassette only). The FH-7402 was the same hub with 130mm axle. The FH-7403 was 8 speed, compatible with both Hyperglide and standard diameter UG threaded cog (non-Dura Ace UG cassette).

Condition 

New old stock in original retail box.  Bearings feel perfect and well lubricated. No significant shop wear.
