Description

The genius of the SACHS-Maillard ARIS (Advanced Rider Indexed System) is that it is compatible with ALL 5/6/7/8 speed indexed shifters!  This includes Campagnolo Synchro, Shimano XT-M732, Shimano 600 SL-7400, Suntour Accushift, Mavic, etc.  It also works with ALL friction shifters.  They came up with a near magical spacing that works WELL with all these systems.  Uses standard Shimano-type freewheel remover tool. 

This one is an 8sp, and designed to work on a 130mm rear spacing hub.  Yes, its one of the only 8 speed thread-on freewheels made in the 1990's

Sachs/Maillard freewheels are often labeled as model "LY-xx".  The number is the year it was made.  The LY does not designate a model, the model on this one at least is ARIS.
