Calling all Colnago collectors! Does your Colnago Super, Mexico, Master, or Arabesque need some more class? These obscure toe straps were made by Alfredo Binda in the 1980's. A few old timers remember these, but apparently the internet does not. Can't find a single picture or reference to them.
They are "laminated", like all the old Binda straps, meaning it's constructed of two leather strips with a nylon laminated layer between them. The buckles are standard Binda buckles, but have the Colnago clover instead of Binda. They feature widened spots, which lessen the pressure on your foot.
These come in their original paper bag. On the bag is printed the words Cinghietta Rinforzata, which translates to Reinforced Belt. Stamped is "servizio Corse", which of course translates to "service course". This is for one a marketing buzz word thrown on anything Italian and race oriented, but also refers to the store house for race gear for a team, neutral support, etc.
Condition
New old stock, never installed. Leather is in great shape and plenty supple. The front sides are treated, and have zero cracking or issues. The back sides are raw leather, and have little micro cracks. They bend just fine, and the cracks don't seem to expand/crackle/grow when flexed. Minor shop wear.
