Description
This blacked-out Ideale 39 is likely too hard for serious riding, but looks GREAT and would be nice saddle for a display bike or art. The leather is jet black, as are the rivets, rails, and hardware.
Condition
Great display condition, questionable riding potential. The leather is not cracked (except slightly at the rear corners and front rivet) and doesn't look like it has been ridden much. It was probably not conditioned for a long period, and hardened from lack of use. Thus, the leather looks very nice and at first glance this looks like it is a time capsule. As for how hard it is: the top feels slightly firmer than a brand new Brooks B17 (except it's not going to break in from use). The sides are not very flexible. But, the leather differs from most dried up saddles as you can flex this one without it cracking and falling apart. It's a gamble if you want to actually ride it, but the price is right.
