Description
Description
The Fujita Belt F17 Competition is a high quality Japanese rendition of the Brooks B17. The design, construction, and quality is remarkably similar to the Brooks. The small differences include a neater lower edge finishing than the raw chamfer on the Brooks, and the nose is trimmed short and snub while the Brooks continues forward in a point. The cantle frame and rails are nearly identical.
Fujita Y.F.C. was the saddle of choice for Japanese bikes in the 1970's into early 1980's. They were often stock equipment on the higher end road bicycles from Fuji, Nishiki, etc. 1980'sThey took the designs from the Italians and English and put their own spin on them. The Seamless was their version of the Cinelli Unicanitor, the Belt was a loose spin on the B17, and the Feather type imitated the Swallow.
Condition
This one has been well loved, but has supple leather and many miles to go. It's leather is very pliable and doesn't crackle when it's flexed, though there is some of that snakeskin look surface cracking. There's scuffs here and there throughout, it has a lot of patina.

I'm always buying high end bikes, parts, accessories, memorabilia, etc. While I'm particularly seeking large piles of new old stock parts, used items in nice condition are welcome.
