Description
The Super Record Fluted seatpost is one of the most beautiful and classic posts. This one is a 3rd gen which was produced roughly 1978-1982 (and probably sold for a few years later). It's identified as 3rd gen by it's polished upper tapered area that's stamped Brev. Inter Campagnolo, and by it's polished/anodized clamp, and unpolished elbow.
This one is curiously pantographed "Paganessi". The only bicycle related reference to that name is Alessandro Paganessi who was a moderately successful pro racer in the 1980's, largely for Team Bianchi. I suspect this may have been one of Alessandro's own race seatposts, as he was not famous enough for there to be panto parts with his name made for consumers. If so, there's a high chance this post was ridden in the Giro D'Italia (which he won stage 20 of in 1983) or another pro peloton race.
Condition
Near mint or better very lightly used shape. It's nicer in person than in photos, as the photos are exaggerating the microscratching to the finish. The area above the insertion area is very close to mint, with just some very light microscratching and extremely light zig zag insertion marks on the back edge.
