Description

This rare pre-1983 version 1 featured a hollow spindle and used standard crank bolts. It comes with the correct rifled alloy cups (which were the same on both V1 & V2).  The V1 spindle had problems breaking at the taper (ask Laurent Fignon).  In 1983 Campy introduced the V2 spindle which was solid and used crank nuts.  Both versions are in the 1982 Olympic catalog, and that is roughly the year the type 2 was introduced.  Perfect for that wall hanger high spec show bike that needs the best and lightest parts!

The V1 spindle has a history of breaking at the taper, RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK.  Bike Recyclery assumes ZERO liability for injury/death caused by this bottom bracket.

Condition

Near mint used shape.  No spindle cracks.  Cups show practically zero tool wear!  They do have some surface scratching though.  Spindle is pretty clean
