Description
This is a tougher to find early version of the Nuovo Record headset. In 1963, the locknut changed from a domed top to the flat top that ran through the end of the NR production in the mid 1980's. The locknut and crown race on the 1960's headsets had smaller font and the locknut had long dashes between words. In 1970 through the mid 70's the cups had <C> engraved, and somewhere during that period the locknut and crown race changed to the late version with larger font and no dashes.
Condition
Aside from the locknut, this headset is near mint with very few miles or blemishes. The locknut has some wrench flat marks and chrome wear. As it sits, its good enough for most show bikes. Replace the locknut with a cleaner one and it will pass for NOS.
