Item Condition

I grade products as honestly as possible and depict blemishes in both description and photos—please study them carefully. I tend to be overcritical and customers report items to be in better shape than expected often. From best condition to worst condition, my grading scale is as follows. Mint / near mint+ / near mint / excellent+ / excellent / great / very good / average / fair.

Description

This was Campagnolo's top level front mech from 1954 (the first year the world logo appeared on this derailleur) to about 1963 when the Record model was released.  This Gran Sport was chrome plated and had nicer castings and details compared to the similar but dull grey coated Valentine model.  Often called the matchbox or pushrod derailleur.

Condition

Excellent used condition, with the exception of the missing chrome on the outer cage plate.  The body, hardware, and clamp are exceptionally nice.  If you switch in a cleaner cage, this will be a show bike appropriate derailleur.

Sell / Trade / Donate

I'm always buying high end bikes, parts, accessories, memorabilia, etc. While I'm particularly seeking large piles of new old stock parts, used items in nice condition are welcome.
