Description

This curiously patina'ed saddle is a Champion Special model, distinguished from the standard B17's by the beveled side lines above the logos and the large copper rivets. This one looks like a 1970's saddle, though its badge has been removed so I can only guess.  It is well broken in and has slight sitbone indents.  Somehow, the leather formed an almost glazed or lacquered look to it.  Its surface is shiny and its color, deep.  A former owner laced it, and the laces are higher up on the side skirts than usual.  The leather is very flexible and soft, though there's cracking on the top.  It doesn't have much tension left in it, and its probably better off as a display piece or for very light riding only. 

I've never seen one worn quite in this manner, and I picked it up just because it is weird and beautiful.

Condition

Glorious patina throughout, along with some scratches on the skirts.  The rivets are curiously in near mint shape with zero oxidation, though the rails have lost their color somehow.  See above for more descriptions, but let's call this a display piece or for your lightest ridden bike.
