I grade products as honestly as possible and depict blemishes in both description and photos—please study them carefully. I tend to be overcritical and customers report items to be in better shape than expected often. From best condition to worst condition, my grading scale is as follows. Mint / near mint+ / near mint / excellent+ / excellent / great / very good / average / fair.

Description
Description
Before Tullio Campagnolo invented quick releases in 1927, the best method of wheel attachment was the axle wing nut. They provide a tool-free installation and removal, vs traditional axle nuts which require a wrench. Today, they are loved by fixie riders and for vintage bicycles for a touch of class or originality.
Here's a mixed lot of vintage wingnuts. There's a matching pair of NOS front Huret Luxe nuts, as well as a rear Gripfast, rear Sova 95, and unknown rear.
*Wingnuts are inherently more dangerous to operate than axle nuts or quick releases. They are only as tight as you can make them with your hands. They must be checked on a regular basis. Not recommended for those without mechanical know-how.
Condition
Huret pair is NOS but has finish wear. Sova is NOS, and the Gripfast and unknown are used.
Details
- 3 orphan rear wingnuts: 3/8" (9.5x26mm) threads
- 2 Huret Luxe front wingnuts: 5/16" (7.5x24mm) threads

I'm always buying high end bikes, parts, accessories, memorabilia, etc. While I'm particularly seeking large piles of new old stock parts, used items in nice condition are welcome.
