I grade products as honestly as possible and depict blemishes in both description and photos—please study them carefully. I tend to be overcritical and customers report items to be in better shape than expected often. From best condition to worst condition, my grading scale is as follows. Mint / near mint+ / near mint / excellent+ / excellent / great / very good / average / fair.

Description
Description
This high end French bidon cage from the 1950's seems to have been marketed towards the racing and cyclotouring markets. It is steel, yet it's quite lightweight. It has a spring at the top that expands when you insert a bottle to hold it in place, while the competition from Coloral, Reg, etc all had clamps you had to manually secure/release. It features an upper hoop triangle designed to hold a plastic TA-style bottle in place (cages designed for aluminum bottles were simple loops at top with no upper holder).
One racing team known for using Vit bottles was Follis. This is a top choice for your racing or randonneuse bicycles from Rene Herse, Alex Singer, Camille Daudon, Paul Charrel, Jo Routens, etc
Attached is a scan from Daniel Rebour's drawing from the 1954 Salon De Paris featuring this cage
Condition
Near mint or better, possibly unused. Chrome is in lovely condition with small spots of minor aging. Show bike worthy! Note that the clamp bolt/nut are modern

I'm always buying high end bikes, parts, accessories, memorabilia, etc. While I'm particularly seeking large piles of new old stock parts, used items in nice condition are welcome.
