I grade products as honestly as possible and depict blemishes in both description and photos—please study them carefully. I tend to be overcritical and customers report items to be in better shape than expected often. From best condition to worst condition, my grading scale is as follows. Mint / near mint+ / near mint / excellent+ / excellent / great / very good / average / fair.

Description
Description
This stem was provided to bicycling magazine on a test very early 1994 YBB for review. 1994 was very early in the adaptation of the Ahead/threadless standard. This is a rare early version, maybe a prototype. There's zero evidence this was ever a production model, and not even as much as a picture of something similar online. It appears to use the shaft and bar clamp from a Moots quill stem.
This thing is immediately noticed as different via the "long" side of the ovalized shaft is on the top/bottom as opposed to the sides of a production one having the long side. It uses the same logos as the quill stem did. The steerer clamp appears identical to production Moots stems.
Condition
Excellent lightly used shape. The titanium overally looks great, with just a few light scratches (mostly on the right side). Decals look great, except a bit of wear on the "c" on the right side. Original hardware in great shape.

I'm always buying high end bikes, parts, accessories, memorabilia, etc. While I'm particularly seeking large piles of new old stock parts, used items in nice condition are welcome.
