Description

Var's premium 983 is one of the best hammer-based crown race removers. It's legs are twice as long as most tools like it allowing it to work on forks with really thick crowns. These are invaluable when working with vintage steel bicycles.  They're one of the best ways to remove a race without damaging it or the fork crown.  This tool goes around the crown from the bottom, then tap the flat bottom side with a hammer.  It's wise to wrap the fork legs in rags to prevent accidental hammer contact.
