Description

Frankenbrake you ask?  This is a hodge podge mix of brake and shifter components!  The set functions normally, but contains several different levels.  Thus, the dirt cheap price!  If this was all XTR, the price would be over $150.  Even if it was all LX, it would be at least $100

These are called Dual Control, or mountain bike STI shifters.  They shift into larger cogs by pushing down on the brake levers, and to smaller cogs by pushing the lower shift lever or pullling up on the brake lever.  These work great for mountain bikes, and are particularly well suited to flat bar road bikes!  It's just like STI shifters for flat bars.

Condition:  Brakes are bled.  Shifters function great.  Cosmetically, they're in good shape with some scratches.  Far from perfect, but still very presentable.

The rundown: 

  • Rear brake:  XT ST-M750 lever, XTR BR-M965 disc brake caliper
  • Front brake:  LX ST-M585 lever, LX BR-M585 disc brake caliper
  • Includes used shift cables
