Rene Herse Nitto M13 Wide Canti Front Rack: Custom Adjustable Crown Attachment (MINT <20mi)

This is a Rene Herse M13 rack that has had it's integral fork crown attachment bolt removed and replaced with a custom 6061 alloy CNC bracket.  This was done to fit a 26" wheel Klein Pinnacle Mountain bike which required the rack to sit further out and higher up than the randonneur bikes the M-13 was designed around. It consists of a tab crimped around the back bar of the platform, to which an extension arm/tab that bolts to the crown is bolted.  With this system, you could manufacture a new tab to fit the length you need or modify the current one.  The platform bar attachment rotates when you loosen the bolt to accommodate different angles.

Stock, this one requires a 6mm hole all the way through your fork crown.  With this system, it works with just a threaded fender mount hole in your crown.

Included is a crown bolt, as well as an extra long fender mount stud (plus nut and leather washer) up front. This stud can be removed and the mount works as stock and mounts directly to the fender.

The Rene Herse M-13 rack is fillet-brazed from superlight and super-strong Cromoly steel tubing, with a plated finish for durability. The elegant tabs for mounting the rack to the cantilever bosses are brazed into the ends of the rack support tubes, like dropouts on a classic bicycle frame. (Other racks often use plates welded to the ends of the tubes or just squeeze the tubes and drill a hole.) At 180 g, the M-13 Extralight is one of the lightest racks available today.

Condition

This was purchased new, modified to fit this Klein Pinnacle and only ridden 20 miles before a crack was discovered in the seat tube.  Mint as new condition, no marks to note.
