Description
Description
Olmo of Italy are considered the equals of Colnago's in some circles. This particular model of vintage road bike frame is fairly similar to the Colnago Super in design and ride quality. This frame is most likely made of Columbus SL steel, and is a late 1970's or 1980's model. The fully chromed fork, cutout bottom bracket shell and chromed Campagnolo dropouts along with the decals identify it as a Competition model. It features Olmo pantographs on the seat tube ends and fork crown, as well as the Olmo star pantograph on the crown and inside of fork legs. This is a high quality racing road bike frame!
A bit of history: Giuseppi Olmo was a highly successful Italian bicycle racer in the 1930's for Bianchi. He held the Hour Record for a year in 1935, and won the Italian National Road Race Championship and Milan San Remo twice. Before his pro days, he won a gold metal in the Los Angeles Olympics in 1931 (thus the olympic rings in his decals). He founded Olmo Biciclette in 1938, and the company is still producing bikes.
Condition
The frame is straight, with NO dents, dings, or bends. There is some light rust in the paint chips and very light corrosion inside the seat tube. The bb shell and head tube are free of rust. The paint has a fair share of chips, and a few light scratches. The frame looks nice with only some light micro-scratching. No pitting or rust on the chrome.

I'm always buying high end bikes, parts, accessories, memorabilia, etc. While I'm particularly seeking large piles of new old stock parts, used items in nice condition are welcome.
