Description

These Italian brakes were popular stock models on racing bikes from the 1950's through the 1960's and into the early 1970's.  It features a long reach brake for the rear and a front reach on the front, which was a common setup on earlier Italian bikes.  This set consists of calipers with original pads, and levers with very clean and supple original hoods.  The brakes are the later version, identified by pegs for the springs vs a wrap around the arm spring the early 50's models had.  The levers are also the later version, identified by the half open back design and less pointy tip.  They do have early 1950's barrel adjusters, identified via the larger diameter and ridged white rubber sleeve. These are nicer than the later versions, which were just bare metal tubing that (sometimes) had a separate rubber cover to match the hood.

Condition

New old stock!  These are show worthy, with clean metal and hardware, super clean and supple hoods, and clean (though dry) original red brake pads.  Brakes and quick releases operate smoothly.
