Description
Description
Mavic released this cool derailleur in the early 1990's as a direct competitor of Dura Ace 7400 and 600/Ultegra 6400. It has basically the same geometry as the 7400, and is quite similar to the last gen Sachs-Huret New Success. It's built very well, and will outlast your Shimano derailleur and look better while doing it. It is compatible with 6/7/8 speed Shimano indexed shifters (except Dura Ace 7400 shifters).
This 840 model is short cage, touring for triple crank medium cage was 841, and 845 was basically SGS cage for mountain bikes.
Condition:
New old stock, take-off. It was mounted on a show bike but never ridden. Zero chain marks on the inner face of outer cage plate confirms no riding. A few very very minor imperfections but none worth pointing out. Absolutely show bike worthy!
Details:
- Model: 840
- Short cage
- Built 1990 to 1993? 1994?)
- Needle bearing pulleys

I'm always buying high end bikes, parts, accessories, memorabilia, etc. While I'm particularly seeking large piles of new old stock parts, used items in nice condition are welcome.
