I grade products as honestly as possible and depict blemishes in both description and photos—please study them carefully. I tend to be overcritical and customers report items to be in better shape than expected often. From best condition to worst condition, my grading scale is as follows. Mint / near mint+ / near mint / excellent+ / excellent / great / very good / average / fair.

Description
Description
The Ideale 88 Speciale Competition was at the top of Ideale's range in the 1960's, 1970's, and just into the 80's. It has an alloy cantle frame plate, chrome rails, large hammered copper rivets, and a sleek performance oriented shape.
This saddle has the Daniel Rebour treatment. This was a patented leather conditioning/softening process that was applied to a small amount of saddles, and is accompanied by the REBOUR stamp on the cover. These saddles are highly revered in the vintage market, and are sought after by collectors and riders alike.
Daniel Rebour's claim to fame is as an illustrator of bicycle components. He wrote/drew a book called "Rebour: The Illustrations of Daniel Rebour". But he was also an accomplished cyclist, and this saddle process is his biggest physical contribution to the industry.
Condition
New old stock, never installed or ridden. Mint, with zero shop wear to note. Rivets are free of that green oxidation they get. leather is flexible, not at all cracking, and not broken in. Rails and frame are perfect.

I'm always buying high end bikes, parts, accessories, memorabilia, etc. While I'm particularly seeking large piles of new old stock parts, used items in nice condition are welcome.
