Description
This saddle has a softer/smoother feeling leather than was usually found on the Racing models. Still smooth leather and not suede, but very soft. Is it buffalo leather? Buffalo leather was the premium leather Avocet offered on the Racing II and III, though I've seen no reference to it on the I. It doesn't have a date code, which leads me to believe this is a late 1980's model (Not confirmed, but all the ones of this style with dates I see are 1990's)
The Racing I came stock on many top level road and mountain bikes in the early 1990's, including the Bridgestone RB-1, RB-1, MB-1, and MB-2, Fat Chance, etc. It's the same saddle as the vintage Ritchey Logic / WCS saddle that came on the Ritchey P-21, as Avocet made them for Ritchey. Fairly rare in NOS shape
