Description

Rare 26 inch wheelset for your high end early to mid 1990's mountain bike restoration! These feature RARE Hi-E cassette hubs, that use an axial star ratchet freehub system and an integrated plate that replaces your lockring while securing the freehub mechanisms in place.  The famous Hugi 240 hubs used a very similar ratchet system. The Mavic 230 was an ultralight XC rim, S.B.P designates silver anodized finish vs T.I.B. titanium color ano finish. Handbuilt by Straight Up Wheels of Yorkville Illinois.

Condition

New old stock, though mounted on a show bike and only test ridden.  Bearings are perfect. VERY close to pristine cosmetically, perhaps a few tiny marks but nothing significant enough to note. Front rim is arrow true, rear is just slightly out. Worthy of any show bike.
