Item Condition

I grade products as honestly as possible and depict blemishes in both description and photos—please study them carefully. I tend to be overcritical and customers report items to be in better shape than expected often. From best condition to worst condition, my grading scale is as follows. Mint / near mint+ / near mint / excellent+ / excellent / great / very good / average / fair.

Description

Super Champion was a French firm, run by Swiss pro racer and former World Hour Record holder Oscar Egg.  His derailleurs were the most popular mech's of the 1930's, and they convinced the Tour De France to allow derailleurs in 1937.  They couldn't keep up with Huret and Simplex, and they disbanded in 1955.

This cool derailleur is a chain pull type, dropout mount, pre-war workhorse.  It features a single toothless jockey wheel, and a barrel adjuster on the shifter.

Condition

New in box, never mounted.  Pretty minimal shop wear for it's age, and in amazing condition.  Pulley and springs are smooth and strong.  Chain pull action is smooth.  Cage is straight.  Box has become soft with age and has a tear on the front, but the print is crisp and in great shape.

Sell / Trade / Donate

I'm always buying high end bikes, parts, accessories, memorabilia, etc. While I'm particularly seeking large piles of new old stock parts, used items in nice condition are welcome.
