Item Condition

I grade products as honestly as possible and depict blemishes in both description and photos—please study them carefully. I tend to be overcritical and customers report items to be in better shape than expected often. From best condition to worst condition, my grading scale is as follows. Mint / near mint+ / near mint / excellent+ / excellent / great / very good / average / fair.

Description

This is a 1st generation Rally long cage derailleur, of the 2nd type which has a reinforced hanger neck to address the cracking issues the 1975 Rally RD had.  It is a take-off from a new bike.  It's been installed, perhaps test-ridden, but has no real miles.  Quite a rare piece with the original box!  A favorite of touring cyclists who run a triple crank, as it's the prettiest and most reliable long cage rear derailleur of the classic era.  They were produced from 1975-1982.

Condition

Take off from new bike, in original box.  MINT! It's practically pristine except for a couple very light scratches on the mount bolt and some very light chainwear on the upper section of the inner cage plate.  Pulleys show no use and spin smoothly.  No scrapes on the knuckles or faceplate.  Practically no dirt/grease.  Doesn't get any better without being true NOS.

Sell / Trade / Donate

I'm always buying high end bikes, parts, accessories, memorabilia, etc. While I'm particularly seeking large piles of new old stock parts, used items in nice condition are welcome.
