Description

Beefy aluminum stem circa mid/late 1980's from American Bicycle MFG of St. Cloud, Minnesota. It features gorgeous and massive welds plus a cable roller. The style isn't wildly far off from a Frank The Welder Yeti stem, or an Answer ATAC.

 American Bicycle Manufacturing has an eccentric history in the mountain bike world. They formed around 1984 with the release of their eccentric Montaneus model, known for it's adjustable head angle via a headset held in place with pinch bolts in the head tube. In 1986, American teamed up with Joe Breeze to produce the American Breezer mtb. In 1993 they were working on the American Beryllium, a two pound mountain bike frame constructed from an aerospace wonder material bonded to aluminum lugs...It was supposed to retail for $32,000! No wonder it never made it to production.

Condition

Near mint to mint barely used shape! Almost no wear to the finish, only very slight decal wear (easy to replace).
