Description

This custom handmade bicycle was built by Ira Ryan, before he joined Breadwinner Cycles in Portland.  This is one of VERY few stainless steel bikes that are lugged.  Most are TIG welded, because filing SS lugs just wears out your files!  It was built to be an all-weather fast bike with full PDW color-matched fenders, Mavic Krysium Exalith for superior wet weather braking, fuss free Campy EPS drivetrain, & an Infocrank with one of the best powermeters on the market to keep track of it all.  It's color scheme is a slightly creamy white with a very metallic orange/gold to match the Chris King Mango headset.  With this build, retail price would have been around $10,000.  It's quite similar to a stainless, lugged version of the Breadwinner Lolo race bike.

With fenders, it fits 23mm and most 25mm tires and sits at 18.4 pounds.  Without fenders, up to 28mm will fit.  If you want to get this as light a possible, you could drop the fenders and save 470 grams (almost a pound!).  You could save another easy 100g by upgrading the seatpost and tires.  This leaves you at 17 pounds for a lugged bike!

Condition

Excellent condition and ready to ride with a handful of paint chips.  This isn't a trailer queen and was ridden, but it's in fabulous shape for a rider.  ZERO dents, bends, cracks, rust, etc.  Driveside chainstay is clean with no damage from chain suck/drop/slap.  Overall the paint looks glossy, clear, and wonderful aside from the paint chips mentioned next. (labeled in pics).  The chips to mention are 1) two 3mm connected chips and a couple trailing wear spots @ driveside top tube, slightly back of middlepoint 2) top of top tube 2" behind head lug, series of chips/scrapes 3) a couple small chips non-driveside of fork at top, 4) 1cm chip and dirt spots on bottom of bb shell.  Aside from these the frame/fork are pretty clean with only a smattering of very minor spots.  The fender paint, on the other hand has more scratches/marks/chips from leaning against bike racks.

The components are largely in excellent to near mint shape with light wear from regular use.  The rear derailleur has a scuff left side of faceplate, and front derailleur outer cage plate at front is slightly chewed up.  Non-drive crank arm end has a big scrape (drive arm end is clean).  Wheels are true and smooth with no play.  Components could be cleaned a bit better perhaps but they're worthy of this lovely frame.
