Description

GIOS-Torino is a prestigious Italian frame builder, who has been making bikes since 1947.  They have a storied history of building bikes for many winning international-level racers.  Their flagship model is the traditional racing geometry "GIOS Record", and the Compact line is their more modern high end offerings, and feature a compact rear triangle.  This one does NOT have the adjustable dropouts that most Compact Pro models feature.  I believe the Compact Pro had the adjustable dropouts, and the Compact did not.  The Gios Compact line was made from 1987 through the mid 1990's.  Like all of the truly great Gios-Torino bikes, this one is in Brooklyn Bubble Gum Team Blue.  A neat little feature is the raised (2mm off tube) and painted Italian flag on the top tube.  Also features an internally routed rear brake cable.

This one has a serial number of 70760.  There are speculations that the first number is the last number of the model year, which would make this a 1987 model.  But the decals and Dedacciai Lite tubing wound indicate mid 1990's.

We're selling the PERFECT saddle for this frame!  It's a GIOS embroidered Selle Italia Turbomatic 3, with the same color and wavy flag logo.

Size:

The XL 60cm frame will fit someone roughly 6ft 1 to 6ft 6.  The bottom of the BB shell is stamped 62, which represents the 62cm seattube c-t measurement.  Due to it's compact rear triangle, it has a short top tube at 58cm (c-c)

Condition:

Great used shape.  The frame and fork are straight, and has NO bends/dents/cracks/gouges.  The paint looks amazing overall, though has a few small chips (two on the top tube, two on the bottom of the downtube, one on the head tube).  Decals are in excellent shape.  Chrome on for and drive-side chainstay look amazing.  Headset is smooth.
