Description

These gorgeous panniers came from a collector who specialized in French and English classic road bikes and randonneuse bikes circa 1930's, 1940's, 1950's, and 1960's.  His best guess was these are French, post war sometime.  They are made of high quality leather with excellent stitching. They would enhance your randonneur or touring bike's aesthetics and practicality.  They would be equally great in a vintage bike museum or display case.  I have not been able to ID the maker, please let me know if you recognize these!

Condition

Exceptional shape for their age!  The main leather panels are supple with a lovely patina.  There are a couple cracked spots mostly on the lids.  Bindings on the lids show the most wear.  The photos show the condition accurately, study them carefully as I am not going to detail every blemish. The patina is part of their charm.  Three out of the six rear straps have been with replaced, with a great color/size match.
