Description
Description
Gorgeous nearly all stock 1986 Fat City Cycles Kicker mountain bike with its original wild harlequin paint job! The Kicker model which was a more aggressive geometry with steeper angles than the standard Fat Chance / Fat Chance Team Comp's slack angles. It rides AMAZINGLY for an early mountain bike. Comparing this to the most popular MTB of this era the early Specialized Stumpjumper or the standard Fat Chance, it feels much more stable on techy terrain and eons better at climbing.
The color scheme is sublime. It's a harlequin black on one side white on the other, with the effect reversing for the fork and stays. There's an equal amount of black and silver/polished components to compliment the paint job. This harlequin features hard lines between the colors whereas the 1990's Fat Chance Yo Eddy Team harlequin had a blurry fade between the colors.
It's build is very close to stock. Save wheels tires and cassette, it's as it was spec'd at the factory. Shimano Deore XT M700 Deerhead derailleurs and cantilever brakes, Magura moto brake levers, Suntour XC thumb shifters, Cook Brothers press fit bottom bracket, Sugino LP crank, Avocet Touring saddle, Shimano 600 EX headset, original 1980's foam grips, etc. Non original components include WTB Velociraptor tires from the 1990's, Araya RM-20 rims on Shimano hubs, 7sp Shimano cassette.
Condition
Near mint and very lovely condition with apparent low miles! It's just tuned up and ready to ride, needs nothing. Paint is VERY clean with only light imperfections, none really worth pointing out. Zero dents, bends, or rust. Cables/housing, chain, grips, etc in great shape. Tires show low miles but are still 1990's tires and caution should be used if you plan to ride them.
