The local woman I sold it to decided it didn't fit well enough before she rode it, and brought it back to me (the Uni-Klein fork sold to a different buyer). This is a 1st year MC2 Attitude painted to match zero degree MC2 stem/bars. It is built to close XT M737 catalog spec, with the addition of period correct Avid Ultimate Black Ops brakes, S-Works Strongarm crank & Thomson post. It's in lovely condition, with only minor blemishes. The Sea and Sky color is a dizzying "linear" fade theme that goes from the deep blue of a Colorado sunny day to the luminous turquoise of algea-filled waters then plunges all the way down to the depths of the darkest glowing midnight blue of the undersea. It's hard track of where each color fades into the next, and it almost feels like a chameleon paint in some lights!.

The early Klein Attitude is one of the most sought after of vintage mountain bikes. MC2 bars/stem is almost mint. There are a number of little scuffs (a couple on the bottom of downtube near bb shell, under drive-side top tube Attitude logo, etc) and a few chips (top/side of non-drive chainstay, inner drive-side chainstay). All of these are labeled in the pics. There's few other minor blemishes here and there not worth noting. Upon looking at the photos, I noticed there are some spots where the light reflections bend a little indicating tiny dents. I went back to the bike to check, and I'm not sure if I can even feel them or not. To be safe let's call them paint-level micro-dents, one on the top tube and one under the downtube.

Components are a mix of near mint and a few great/EXC condition pieces. He ordered the from Ritchey and before building had it custom painted by Rick Stefani of D&D Cycles to somewhere between the Bridgestone X0-1 Construction Pumpkin and the "butterscotch" color from the Rivendell Saluki. He finally built it up in the mid 2000's and rode it just a handful of times before he decided he preferred road/gravel, thus its glorious condition. With this build, if you swap in some upside down Northroads bars and a rigid fork you'll have a one of a kind Ritchey X0-1!

The build is a mix of top shelf components from the era. Highlights are the Paul Motolite brakes, Fox RLC fork, and Ritchey WCS cockpit, XTR M970 9 speed rear with thumbies, Rene Herse Humptulips—and a custom crop circle logo'd Ritchey 4-bolt triple cranks! This was a crop circle that appeared in the UK in 1994 and is one of Chris's logos for AdventureCORPS.

Condition

Close to mint barely ridden condition! It presents as a close to showroom condition as a "ridden" mtb can be. The only real blemishes are the slightest bit of chain suck paint wear behind the chainring and a little bit of chipping on the non driveside chainstay near the dropout. Maybe a few tiny marks elsewhere. Components are largely mint or close to it. Tires are brand new.

Frame

Frame number: NT19-1908

Tube set: Ritchey Logic Nitanium steel

Ritchey frame size: 19" large (Below numbers are hand measured)

Seat tube: 19" center to top

Top tube: 22.25"

Headtube: 90mm

Chainstay: 417mm

Components

Fork: Fox F-32 RLC, 80mm travel

Wheels (26"): Front Ritchey WCS / Rear Velocity Synergy on Shimano Deore LX FH-M570

Crankset: Ritchey 4-bolt: 175mm x 44/32/22t

Cassette: XTR CS-M970 9 speed: 11-34t

Brakeset: Paul Motolite linear pull

Brake Levers: Paul Love levers

Rear derailleur: XTR RD-M971

Front derailleur: Shimano Ultegra FD-6600

Thumb shifters: Shimano Dura Ace SL-BS77 on Paul Thumbies mounts

Tires: Rene Herse Humptulips knobbies 26" x 2.3"

Stem: Ritchey WCS 4-Axis

Bars: Ritchey Pro flat bars, Ritchey WCS bar ends

Bottle cages: Nitto T cages

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0785/5144/9740/files/PXL_20260826_202341250__21659.1787963987.1280.1280.jpg?v=1791054537
