Original lockring and three of the four (I think) original axle nuts present. These are unique for several reasons. 1) flip flop rear hub, where the vast majority of the 50's Gran Sport hubs are road setup or road shells with a solid axle. 2) the logos are the earlier winged-wheel logo, identified by the presence of spokes in the wheel (later logos have no spokes) and on this old logo there are more feathers and the feather lines go further down the wing (new logo lines are just at the tip), font is thinner, slightly larger, and fancier than new logo. It is still unknown exactly when the logo changed, but evidence points to somewhere late 50's. 3) Most of the early GS hubs are 36 spoke format, these are 32 front 40 rear.

These deserve to be shown off and oogled, whether on a true pista bike from the era, a very brave L'Eroica bicycle, or in a local bike shop's display case.

Condition

Exceptional condition for the age with some great patina. Both hubs have been freshly rebuilt with vintage Campagnolo grease and spin buttery smooth. Cones/cups have no pitting. The front hub is near mint and truly show bike worthy. Center shell's chrome is clear and rust free, with a few spots of VERY light pitting beginning. Flanges are quite clean with some minor cosmetic marks. Rear hub has a bit more imperfections. Most notably one end of the center shell has sections of chrome that has peeled off. Pitting on the center shell is a bit heavier than the front's, but not much. Flanges are in similar clean shape. One of the axle nuts is definitely non-original and lacks the little flange. Some people on CR have suggested the axles have been trimmed, to allow use of closed end nuts. Photos show condition accurately.

Details

Rear spacing: 120mm

Front spacing: 100mm

Spoke holes: 40 hole rear, 32 hole front

Fixed/free flip flop

Alloy flanges, chrome steel center shells

Freewheel side threads: BSA

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0785/5144/9740/files/high_end_vintage_bike_parts_campagnolo_dura_ace_18199__78516.1659141357.1280.1280.jpg?v=1791229452
nib-nos-campagnolo-nr-sr-gs-c-record-croce-loose-bearings-1-4-18ct-bottom-bracket-rear-hub-1980s-bags
NIB/NOS Campagnolo NR/SR/GS/C-Record/Croce Loose Bearings: 1/4" -
